Who is Aaron?

Raised by a small business owner and homemaker, the values of hard work, determination, and compassion were instilled in me from an early age, as was the importance of community service.

I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and I have spent the last two decades working in roles centered around social and community service. The majority of my career I have provided direct behavioral healthcare to adults and children living with severe and persistent mental illness. Every day I fight to ensure individuals have the resources they need to: stay in their homes, receive necessary treatments, or improve the skills needed to be contributing members of society.

Currently, I work as a behavioral health business strategist and project manager at a local safety net hospital. I also am an adjunct professor teaching the social workers of tomorrow at a local university. I believe my policy experience and ability to work through programmatic solutions have prepared me to start day one in Jefferson City.

My wife, Jessica, and I have made Independence our home since we were married in 2006. We have two children, Corban (13) and Isabelle (11), and they have attended Independence public schools their entire educational experience and will graduate from Truman High School.

In addition to being active in our community through my children's schools and activities, I serve on several boards and commissions in the area. I am proud to be a Democratic Committeeman and represent part of Independence on both the Jackson County and Missouri State Democratic Committees. I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers both nationally and the Missouri Chapter. I serve on the following boards and commissions: SAVE, Inc., Heritage Philharmonic, and Kansas City Health Commission Ad Hoc Committee on Housing.
